The Pre-opening of the official opening of the IMDPA Annual Conference provides an excellent opportunity to network, meet old friends and colleagues, as well as meet new people as we recognize the achievements of the day’s golfers and share in the festivities and fellowship of the other industry members.   Cocktail reception is from 5:00-7:00 followed by a sit down dinner starting at 7:00PM.  Register to attend the IMPDA Memorial Scholarship Golf Banquet

Networking Do // Don't

DO: Take notes during sessions – A common ice-breaker is to discuss the speakers you enjoyed and parts of the agenda that appealed to you. With THREE SIMULTANEOUS BREAKOUTS on Tuesday, you’re sure to hear different aspects you might have missed!

DON’T: Be timid – and only talk to people you already know. Networking is as simple as saying hello to people around you!

DO: Have your “elevator pitch” down – Be quick, concise, and accurate when discussing your business with tabletop exhibitors and others.

DON’T: Engage in overzealous self-promotion – This tactic is more likely to annoy than build valuable relationships. Of course, you should let people know what you do, but don’t dive in with the hard sell

DO: Carry (and collect!) business cards –

While ensuring you have more than enough with you is important, collecting cards and using them to reconnect at the event or after is vital.

DON’T: Forget to follow up – What’s the use of meeting people if you don’t get in touch afterward? However, if you get a list of attendees, don’t add them automatically to your email campaigns and newsletters.

DO: Pre-Network using social media – Use the hashtag #IMDPACONFERENCE and start making contacts now! Then, when attending Packaging That Sells, schedule meetings with your online contacts.

DON’T: Limit your network of contacts – Expand your network to include professionals at varying experience levels, not just your peers. You never know who might have the right connections.
